PORTLAND SETS RECORD FOR TREE HUGGING

Dateline Portland, Oregon – Saturday, July 20 2013:  Breaking News.  It’s like Portlandia, only real.  Portland Oregon has apparently set the world record for number of people hugging trees.

In an event held at the Hoyt Arboretum, over 800 people embraced a tree simultaneously for over a minute, beating the previous record of 731 people documented in the Guinness Book of World Records.  An official count is still pending.  The previous record was set by a group in England in September 2011.  THis is a short video of the actual hug.  More HD video coming with lots of additional footage.
