MOMS WILL MARRY IF OREGON LAW PASSES

Dateline Portland Oregon July 14, 2013 – If gay rights advocates have their way, Oregon may be the next state to allow for same sex marriages.

Next weekend Oregon United for Marriage and Basic Rights Oregon kick off their signature gathering for a ballot measure which would would remove Oregon’s constitutional ban on same-sex marriage (created by the 2004 passage of Measure 36) and would insert the right of same-sex couples to marry. In this short video Regina Peratta (left) and Gina Diaz (right) have been married under Canadian law, but they are among the thousands of gay people seeking legal marriage in Oregon. The couple made an appearance at the Celebration Rally for the Supreme Court decision to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). The event was held at Terry Schrunk Federal Plaza across from City Hall in Portland Oregon on 26 June 2013.
