AFL-CIO Pres Tom Chamberlain is caught on tape after the Kitz debate and asked: “Are you down for the little guy?” His 2012 salary is revealed.

Dateline Tuesday, October 14, 2014: Following the Kitzhaber-Richardson debate at KGW on Tuesday night I spot Tom Chamberlain headed out of the building on Jefferson Street, keeping a low profile. Tom is the President of the Oregon AFL-CIO. He’s often found beating up on large corporations, or blaming Bush when he makes speeches to your kids when they show up for the Bus Project. I wish I was making it up.

I bolt after him to ask a few questions, as I had seen him Monday at the “Yes on 88!” event, onstage with Governor John Kitzhaber. Measure 88 would provide drivers licenses for illegal aliens. Tom’s got no time for me, so I decide to drill him on how much he makes, given the heavy level of union dues, and his instance that private corporations forgoe CEO salaries to increase the minimum wage to $15/hour. Tom’s lip is buttoned but I decide to do a little digging on my own. He jets off in his new Chevy Volt, one of only three people stupid enough to buy one.
